Springfield Healthcare strengthens £23m homecare business with North Leeds acquisition

Yorkshire care provider, Springfield Healthcare, has acquired Moorcare, the homecare service operated by Leeds Jewish Welfare Board.

The transfer will extend Springfield Healthcare's community care operations into North Leeds, which the company said would strengthen its geographical footprint and provide a platform for further expansion across the area.

The statement added: “Under the agreement, 27 Moorcare employees will transfer to Springfield Healthcare under TUPE regulations, while more than 60 clients will continue to receive support from a familiar team of carers, helping to ensure continuity of care and established relationships are maintained.”

Theresa Bradley-Comstive, chief operating officer at Springfield Healthcare, said, "The acquisition of Moorcare is an important step in the continued development of our Leeds operations.

"Moorcare has a long-standing reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality care within its local community.”

Elizabeth Bradbury, chief executive of Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, added, "The board unanimously believes this is the right decision for Moorcare, its clients, its staff and the future of LJWB. While we are naturally saddened to see the end of Moorcare as an LJWB service, our overriding priority has been to ensure that clients continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve and that staff are supported through the transition.”
