SSP appoints chief financial officer and professional services director

Carol Thompson has been appointed chief financial officer and Yvonne Spalding as professional services director at insurance technology firm SSP in Halifax. Ms Thompson was formerly chief financial officer at Electricity North West, and operating partner at Marwyn. Ms Spalding, joined SSP from IT and business services firm Steria.

Sheffield business advisory firm Mackenzie Spencer has appointed Mark Stanley as joint managing director. Mr Stanley was previously group finance director at Sheffield-based Action for Employment.

Darren Owers has been appointed senior partner at Yorkshire Bank’s West Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC), Bradford. Mr Owers has spent five years as a senior partner at the bank’s Leeds FSC between 2004 and 2009 and more than a year as head of business development at the bank.

Mark Langley has been appointed local business manager at Santander Business Banking in Doncaster. He was previously local business manager at Lloyds TSB in Sheffield.

Robert Hepworth has been appointed as an associate at Knight Frank in Sheffield. He previously worked for Strutt & Parker before joining King Sturge ahead of its merger with Jones Lang LaSalle last year.

Law firm Dickinson Dees has strengthened its corporate team with the appointment of Naeem Hashmi. Mr Hashmi joins Dickinson Dees, which moves from York to Leeds in spring this year, from Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester.

Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce has appointed Michael Cullen as business development manager. Mr Cullen previously spent five years as business and magazines manager at Sheffield Newspapers.

Corporate lawyer Giles Clegg, a director with Lupton Fawcett since 2007, has been appointed deputy chair for Yorkshire Institute of Directors, in Leeds.

Matt Baker has been appointed head of operations at protective security management firm, RandomStorm, in Wetherby. Mr Baker was previously an independent management consultant.

Play equipment manufacturer Sutcliffe Play in Pontefract has appointed two new sales managers. Alix Oakes joined from Playforce, while Sheryl Stephenson was previously on the design team at Sutcliffe Play.
