The Pavers Foundation provides a boost for York Carers Centre
The Pavers Foundation has donated £2,000 to York Carers Centre on behalf of Christine and Steve McLeod, who both work at Pavers Distribution Centre in York.
The pair applied for funding through the Pavers Foundation’s employee-led grant initiative scheme, which encourages employees of the family-owned footwear business to support their local community.

Samantha Ferguson, Training and Volunteer Officer for York Carers Centre, said: “This money will enable us to raise awareness and host substance misuse information marketplace events within the city. These events will provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment for anyone affected by addiction to seek advice and guidance on how to better cope with a loved one’s drinking, drug use and or gambling. We appreciate how difficult it can be to support someone with a drug or alcohol problem, as well as how difficult it can be to walk in the door and ask for help for the first time.”
