Next year’s event, which will return to
York Racecourse for its 11th year on March 13, will have a particular focus on painting a picture of what may lie ahead.

Event organiser Chris Wilson told the Yorkshire Post: “The focus for 2014 will be on futurology and expected trends in the marketplace as well as an interesting competition featuring digital technology – the details of which we’ll be announcing shortly.”

He said: “The event has been hugely successful in supporting the region’s science and technology sector.

“The 2014 event will feature some new show highlights as well as the popular innovation showcase and investment competition which give opportunities
for growing businesses to gain access
to unique investment and professional
advice.”

Mr Cecil raised nearly $1m in just 30 days with the support of 15,000 fans of his multi-million selling Broken Sword adventure game series. Venturefest Yorkshire is for technology, science and innovative entrepreneurs in the region. PICTURE: GERARD BINKS.
