WYG reaches ‘new milestone’

LEEDS-based WYG, the project management and technical consultancy, today said it had reached a “significant milestone” as it delivered results that beat expectations.

In the year ended March 31 2013, the company recorded revenue of £125.7m, compared with £139.9m the year before. The adjusted operating profit was £1.8m, compared with a loss of £3.5m in the year before.

Adjusted profit before tax was £700,000, compared with a loss of £5.8m the previous year.

The company said it had delivered improved profitability across the UK, Eastern Europe and the Rest of World.

Profits were stable in the Middle East and North Africa.

Paul Hamer, the chief executive of WYG, said: “The group’s better than expected return to adjusted profit before tax for the year ended March 31 2013 marks a significant new milestone in the progress of the group.

“In the UK, we have been successfully winning work in our key sectors, including urban and commercial development, defence and justice and energy and waste, despite continued subdued UK market conditions.”
