Xamax doubles manufacturing team after securing funding
The Wakefield-based business appointed three new machinists after receiving the grant from the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership’s Business Growth Programme, which is funded by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.
Ernest Lacho, Darren Radley and William Ward take the manufacturing team from this particular division from three to six.

“The appointment of Ernest, Darren and William has come as a direct result of the fund and will allow us to treble capacity in our sportswear division, with a projected increase in sales in this part from £250,000 in 2012 to £700,000 per year by 2015.”
The grant for almost £20,000 has covered 20 per cent of the total investment of a flatbed laser cutting system, Roland XF-640 printer, Monti Calendar Press and a new mezzanine floor, resulting in an increase output of sports kits from 120 items per day to 360 items per day.
The new appointments and facility upgrade come just months after the company invested more than £500,000 into the refurbishment of its factory facilities and offices, as well as the design and build of a customer facing retail outlet of over 3,000 sq ft in Wakefield.
