York-based animal feed specialist ISF celebrates 35 years in business

York-based animal feed mill engineering specialist, ISF, is marking 35 years of business this year, with a series of events to celebrate its success, reward its team and raise money for charity.

Employing a team of 25, and with a turnover of £3m, ISF was started in 1989 by its managing director Iain Scott, who noticed the need for specialist animal feed mill engineering expertise following his own hands-on experience of working in a feed mill.

Starting as ‘one-man with a van’, the business has remained family-owned, with a 10,000 sq./ft manufacturing facility at the Raylor Centre in York and customers across the UK and Europe.

Mr Scott said: "I'm incredibly proud of what ISF has achieved over the past 35 years. From our humble beginnings, we've grown into a leading engineering firm in the animal feed milling industry. This growth has been driven by our dedicated team, innovative solutions, and unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.”

In celebration of the company milestone, the ISF team is aiming to raise £3,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and St Leonard’s Hospice, York.

The team firm is already undertaking a team indoor cycling challenge of 874 miles, the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats, which has raised nearly £700 so far. It aims to raise further funds for their charities with a Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk in September.

To celebrate the 35-year milestone, the firm’s entire staff is being invited to a day at York Races on 14 June.
