Yorkshire projects help urban regeneration firm Muse enjoy ‘positive’ 2014

MUSE Developments, the urban regeneration and property development company, yesterday revealed that it had enjoyed a “positive year” in which it started work on a number of major projects in Yorkshire.

During 2014 Muse, which is part of Morgan Sindall, was involved in schemes that provided a shot in the arm for Yorkshire’s economy.

Morgan Sindall began to develop Sovereign Square in Leeds with the construction of a 60,000 sq ft office development for KPMG. This is the first of three buildings which are proposed for a new area of green public realm on Sovereign Street.

While trading conditions remained “challenging”, Morgan Sindall Group revealed that it had delivered an operating profit of £26.5m before adjustments in 2014, compared with £16.2m the year before. Muse has also started building work on the first ‘big shed’ scheme at Logic Leeds, a 110-acre manufacturing and distribution development.

Last year, work also started on

the first phase of residential development at The Gables, a 54-home scheme in Doncaster’s Civic and Cultural Quarter.

Morgan Sindall Group’s specialist housing provider Lovell is building the new energy-efficient homes. The scheme is part of the £300m regeneration of the Waterdale area of the town.

Muse has also started work on 51 new luxury homes at the Lakeside, which is two miles south east of Doncaster.
