Zest brings EV charging to KFC at Birstall Shopping Park in West Yorkshire

Zest, the Leeds-based investor and operators of public access EV (electric vehicle) charging infrastructure, has opened a new ultra-rapid EV charging facility at KFC Birstall in West Yorkshire.

The new site includes six 160kW charging spaces. A spokesman said the deployment has been delivered as part of Zest’s partnership with franchise operator Soul Foods Group.

Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said: “KFC Birstall is exactly the kind of everyday destination where convenient EV charging can make a real difference. By placing ultra-rapid chargers where people already stop to eat, shop and travel, we’re helping make EV ownership more practical for more drivers.”

Bruce Layzell, General Manager UK at Soul Foods, said: “We’re pleased to work with Zest to bring ultra-rapid EV charging to KFC Birstall. The new facilities give customers another reason to visit, while supporting cleaner transport choices for the communities we serve.”
