Malham Show returned on Saturday (Aug 29), bringing a celebration of farming and rural traditions to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Livestock featured prominently throughout the day, with cattle and sheep prepared for judging and shown in the rings, while horses and riders were also put through their paces.
Traditional countryside skills were on display too, with competitors taking part in dry stone walling against the distinctive backdrop of Malham’s limestone landscape.
The show has roots stretching back to 1907, when the first event was held at Airton and featured everything from children’s races to a blindfolded wheelbarrow race.
The show as it is known today was revived in 1946 and later moved to Malham, where generations continue to gather to celebrate the area’s agricultural heritage.
