Young and next generation farmers have been set the challenge to share their ideas on how agriculture can reach its net zero 2040 ambitions
The video challenge, which is being supported by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, involves sharing ideas or practical examples on climate solutions.
The federation’s agri-chairman, George Baxter, said: “By taking part in the challenge, YFC members and next generation farmers can play an active part in helping to achieve the net zero ambition, share ideas and, most importantly, have their voices heard.”

Hide AdThe NFU has set the industry ambition to reach net zero by 2040, a decade before the Government target of 2050.
The NFU’s deputy president, Stuart Roberts, said young farmers are going to be “crucial” in helping to steer the nation towards a net zero future.
“More than ever we need new ideas and we need to create an environment for everyone’s voice to be heard,” he said.
Organisers said there were no strict criteria for the challenge, but guidelines encourage entrants to be “imaginative” and help communicate their vision for a sustainable future.

Entries close on July 30, and full details are at nfyfc.org.uk/isolationchallenge-climate.
