Construction is currently under way for a new capital project, where almost £2m has been invested in new technology for precision farming solutions at the college’s 360-acre campus just outside Beverley, East Yorkshire.

The funding has come through an award from the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology consortium, which delivers higher-level technical training across Yorkshire. The £1.7m granted to Bishop Burton has been invested in a new build and specialist equipment that will be used for precision agriculture courses.

Construction is due to be completed in late Spring 2021.

As well as being a specialist land-based college, Bishop Burton was one of the first providers in the country to pioneer the new T Level in Childcare in September of this year. From September 2021 a second T Level will be available in Health and Social Care.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the care and support given to students in its last inspection, the college puts student welfare and development as its priority. The college has its own welfare officers to provide specialist support whenever it is needed.

Students can also choose to stay on campus in one of the halls of residents, where they are supported 24/7 by a dedicated team of highly experienced wardens.

With the ongoing pandemic, it is not possible to offer a full open event and campus tour in-person. To make sure you can still learn about the college’s outstanding facilities and courses, a purpose-built virtual open event website, with 3D immersive imagery, has been developed so you can find out more.

You can even chat to tutors and support staff to ask questions, join live subject presentations with Q&A sessions via Zoom, watch videos from past and current students, read about the college’s many courses, virtually tour the facilities and even apply online. All you need to do to join us is sign up here.

Applications are being taken now for September 2021 – visit www.bishopburton.ac.uk to find out more.
