The duke has accepted an invitation to become patron of the University of Huddersfield. Vice-chancellor Professor Bob Cryan said he is delighted by the move. “We share the same ambition to develop, support and encourage creativity and innovation,” he said.

In May, the duke officially opened the university’s £12m 3M Buckley Innovation Centre.
