Singer’s anti-drugs message

PUPILS in schools across Yorkshire have been listening to an anti-drugs message with a difference delivered by an aspiring singer.

Harper, a singer based in Keighley, is working with the Dare (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) to spread the word through songs.

She is currently in the middle of a tour across Yorkshire performing to pupils aged between 11 and 14 in their first three years of secondary school.

Yesterday she took to the stage at the Bradford Academy, a secondary school in the East Bowling area of the city. The performance starts with her singing pop songs which the pupils will know before doing a question and answer sessions about the dangers of taking drugs.

She has been a singer since the age of 16 and first appeared on stage at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre aged eight. Her tour of schools saw her perform at 15 secondaries before Christmas.
