A further 30 people have died in Yorkshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

The figures were released by NHS England on Friday, January 1.

Two people died in hospitals in Barnsley.

Five people died in hospitals in Bradford.

One person died in hospital in Harrogate.

Three people died in hospitals in Hull.

One person died in hospital in Leeds.

One person died in a hospital under the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Six people died in hospitals in Sheffield.

Two people died in hospitals in Rotherham.

The total number of Covid related deaths in Yorkshire hospitals is 5,974.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28 NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
