Emily Lancaster, a Mirfield-based wedding planner, said she had worked with couples who were now on their third or fourth chosen date to tie the knot.

From Monday, couples will be able to marry in ceremonies with up to 15 people attending and have an outdoor reception meal in any venue permitted to open.

Ms Lancaster said: “It’s been heartbreaking for couples. You want them to get excited and there’s been a cloud over their weddings. As a planner it’s been tricky to predict. You don’t want to give people false hope.

“The smaller weddings we did last year were stunning and really emotional.

“It’s feeling more positive now and when it fully opens it’ll be amazing.”

And for those mourning a loved one, funeral wakes for up to 15 people can also take place from Monday.

The number allowed at services will remain at 30 people.
