More than 50 new Covid deaths recorded in Yorkshire in daily update

A total of 51 new Covid deaths have been recorded in Yorkshire hospitals in an update released on Friday - amid the government announcements of further tier restrictions.

The highest increase was recorded by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with eight new deaths.

The death toll in the county from the virus has now risen to 4,664.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 5

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust: 1

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 8

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 5

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust: 4

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust: 7

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust: 7

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 6

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2
