Figures released by NHS England show 3 deaths were recorded as having taken place in the 24 hours to 4pm on Wednesday April 14.

Since April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.

Some 12,607 deaths with covid on the death certificate have been recorded across Yorkshire and the North East since the start of the pandemic.

The Government said a further 30 people in England had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.

It brings the UK total to 150,419.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 2672 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
