The weekly Covid infection rate of every Yorkshire area as cases rise and Bradford, York and Leeds become hotspots

This is the weekly Covid-19 infection rate of every local authority area in Yorkshire.

Bradford has the highest infection rate in Yorkshire at 311.2 cases per 100,00 people. The case rates in Rotherham, Bradford, Calderdale, Barnsley, Wakefield and Kirklees have risen.

The latest figures, for the seven days to January 21, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people. Data for the most recent four days (January 22-25) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases. Of the 315 local areas in England, 27 (nine per cent) have seen a rise in case rates and 287 (91 per cent) have seen a fall and one is unchanged. Images are for illustrative purposes only.
