A total of 27 new coronavirus deaths were recorded across Yorkshire in new figures published on Thursday (Oct 22).

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death at hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

The deaths were recorded by the following trusts:

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust: 1

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust: 1

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust: 14

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust: 2

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 1

The death toll in the region now stands at 3,165.

A total of eight people died from coronavirus in Leeds hospitals on Tuesday according to new figures.

The deaths were included within 14 further coronavirus deaths in Leeds hospitals in the past five days.

The increase in the death toll by 14 in a single daily update is the highest since May 2 at the height of the pandemic, for the city of Leeds.
