The Yorkshire areas with the highest and lowest Covid infection rates as Boris Johnson orders third national lockdown

Boris Johnson has imposed a third national lockdown on England to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed by surging coronavirus infections.

The coronavirus infection rate is now rising across Yorkshire, with rapid increases in York and parts of North Yorkshire over the last week. These are the current infection rates of every local authority area in the region, listed from highest to lowest rates. The latest figures, which are for the seven days to December 30, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). The rate is expressed as the new number of new cases per 100,000 population. Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
