Yorkshire's attractions ready to open as Lightwater Valley primes for its first pleasure-seekers in months

For parents whose children have tired of endless walks around their local neighbourhoods, the reopening of Yorkshire theme parks and zoos will come as a huge relief.

Colin Bowen, manager at the park, said: “We sold out virtually every day last summer when we reopened.

“We’ve got a new attraction this year called Go Safari, with 40 life-size animals and we’re specifically aiming at the under-12 market now. It’s something we’ve been talking about for many years.

“Because of Covid last year, we targeted just families and now we’ve got rid of some of the bigger rides.

“The park has been refreshed more than it has for many years.”

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is also set to reopen with animal lovers able to meet its newest residents, including an albino baby wallaby.
