Free downloads: How we marked Churchill’s death, 50 years ago

IT’S THE 50th anniversary of the death of Sir Winston Churchill, and to mark the occasion we’re making available historic pages from The Yorkshire Post’s archive to download and keep - entirely free.

Our front page from Monday, January 25, reported that a week of national mourning would follow the death of “the greatest Englishman of this century - and probably any other”.

We have reproduced five pages from that day’s edition and two from the following day’s. There are also three pages from the edition of February 1, which covered Churchill’s state funeral in London.
