Thousands make motor show a major success


It was held at a new location, Castle Howard, where hundreds of classic cars and vintage motors were on show for Father’s Day.
The event showcased the Best of British with vehicles judged on the day. The show will also see an aerobatic display from a Second World War Spitfire.

Hide AdThe main event arena will be filled with family entertainment including fun fair, motor dealers, trade stands, collectables, crafts and food stands.
Lisa Bradbury, The Yorkshire Post’s event manager, said: “This was a new venue for us after 20-odd years at Harewood House, and it was a very successful day.
“The cars were a big attraction, obviously, but the Spitfire created a lot of interest too.
“Castle Howard created a great backdrop for the event.”
The event originally startedlife as a Classic Car Rally and it has expanded over the years to feature more entertainment and make it a fun packed day for all the family.

Hide AdCastle Howard is a private residence, and has been the home of the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for 300 years. It is not a true castle, but this term is also used for English country houses erected on the site of a former military castle.
