Originally launched in St Andrews by Yorkshire-based entrepreneur Jasmine Wheelhouse in February 2017, The Gin Fayre has already hosted five sell-out events across Scotland and will make its Yorkshire debut at Wetherby Town Hall during the May bank holiday weekend.

The event will play host to a variety of highly regarded gin brands from across the Yorkshire region, with Cooper King Distillery (the UK's smallest distillery, based in Yorkshire), Greystone Gin from The Harewood Food & Drink Project, Raisthorpe Manor and brands from further afield, including Ink Gin from Australia, just a few of the names set to attend.

Having launched to huge success in Scotland, Wheelhouse hopes the event will prove equally popular when it arrives in Wetherby and is looking forward to bringing The Gin Fayre home to her roots.

"My heart and roots have always been in Yorkshire, which is why we've decided to bring the event to three locations in the country, starting with Wetherby," explains the founder.

"I have lived in Leeds all my life and I am delighted to bring The Gin Fayre - and our fantastic distillers - a little closer to home."

During the event, which will take place on Sunday 6 May, visitors will be able to enjoy a selection of the finest distilleries from around the world, alongside masterclasses, cocktails, goody bags and free samples.

"The event was created with people in mind who wanted to learn more about what they are drinking, the flavours, varieties and the process of distilling gin, without the price tag of buying numerous bottles from the supermarket," says Wheelhouse.

"The Gin Fayre gives people the opportunity to try before they buy, as well as offer the distillers a direct route to market."

When is it?

The Gin Fayre will be held at Wetherby Town Hall on Sunday 6 May and will run over two sessions: 2pm to 3.30pm and 4.30pm to 8pm.

Each session will feature a masterclass with a distillery, allowing attendees to delve further into the flavours, processes and story of the gin.

Tickets cost £15 for general admission, or £20 for general admission plus a masterclass.

All tickets include a welcome drink and ten samples from the distillers.
