Barn for sale near Ilkley with the best of both worlds
The beautiful rural views were a major selling point when Clare Simms and her family bought Winebeck Barn in Addingham, near Ilkley.
In one direction they can see Beamsley Beacon and the Bolton Abbey estate, and in another they can look out at Ilkley’s famous Cow and Calf Rocks.

The family can also take advantage of Hamilton’s, the much-loved cafe/bistro at Olicana Park, a small holiday lodge and cottages business, which is also within walking distance.
After buying the barn in 2011, Clare updated the decor and made some changes. The kitchen and dining area were united to make the open-plan space the heart of the home. The kitchen has Shaker-style bespoke cabinets with a new island. The large sitting room was treated to a wood-burning stove and boasts a large corner sofa.
“We had to change the location of the sitting room door to get the sofa in but it was worth it. It’s a wonderful place to sit, especially in winter when the log burner is lit and we can look out over the moor,” says Clare, who also reconfigured the bedrooms to make them all doubles.

Estate agents Harrison Robinson say: “This high-spec property is ready to move into and ‘just put the kettle on’.”
Winebeck Barn has an open-plan dining kitchen with polished stone flooring and French doors leading onto the garden. The ground floor also has a cloakroom, utility room and a dual aspect sitting room. Stairs lead up from the dining area to three double bedrooms, all with uninterrupted, countryside views and there is a four-piece bathroom.
Outside, a courtyard driveway provides off-street parking leading to a double garage. Steps lead up to a lawn garden with patios.
