Thanks to his highly praised work at RHS Chelsea Flower Show over more than 30 years - in particular his gold medal-winning design of the Welcome to Yorkshire Garden last year - Mr Gregory was honoured with the accolade through a letter from The Lord St Oswald DL, who is rresident and a vice chairman of the society.
Speaking on his new title, Mr Gregory said: “This is a huge honour and means so much to me. I’m a very proud Yorkshireman and the work I’ve done at Chelsea Flower Show to help raise the profile of this stunning county has been my pride and joy.

Reaching its 40th year, the Yorkshire Society exists to celebrate and promote "everything that’s great about Yorkshire".
Mr Gregory is currently working alongside his Landform Consultants team to build three new gardens at RHS Wisley over the next 15 months.
