Saleroom: Perfect pottery

An impressive single-owner collection of 174 pieces of early and modern Moorcroft pottery and enamels, worth an estimated £10,000-£15,000, is to be auctioned at a Tennants antiques and interiors sale in Leyburn next Saturday. One of the best early pieces in the collection is a fabulous ruby lustre vase designed by William Moorccroft for his then employer, James Macintyre & Co, in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, in 1908.
