This farmhouse linked to notorious 17th-century highwayman 'Swift Nick' Nevison is on the market for £1.8m
A farmhouse with links to one of England’s most notorious 17th-century highwaymen has come to the market for £1.8m.
Nevison House, on the outskirts of Felixkirk, near Thirsk, is reputed to have once been home to John ‘Swift Nick’ Nevison, also known as William Nevison, whose exploits included a legendary 200-mile ride from Kent to York in just 15 hours, following a robbery in 1676.
Today, the Grade II listed farmhouse stands in a private position, surrounded by approximately 14 acres of gardens and paddocks. The four-bedroom property has four reception rooms, a breakfast kitchen and accommodation arranged over three floors.
Outside are mature gardens, a tennis court, nine stables, an arena and traditional Yorkshire stone outbuildings with potential for conversion, subject to planning permission. There is also a one-bedroom annexe cottage.
Nevison House is for sale with Croft at a guide price of £1.8m.
