With travel abroad uncertain at the moment, many people will be looking to 'staycation' and have a holiday within the UK once national lockdown restrictions are lifted. At the moment, people are being urged to stay at home and to stay as local as possible, but for those that do want to plan ahead, or do some virtual holiday window shopping, here are some great, quirkey places to go for a staycation:
9. Dale Farm Treehouse, Hunmanby
This one is a bit different to the treehouse you had when you were a child. Nestled in the trees of Dale Farm in Hunmanby, the simple and cosy space has a log burner, snug bedroom with double bed and a decking area which is the perfect place for a barbecue. It also has its own bathroom underneath it, so no need to share with others.
10. The Wensleydale Experience, Leyburn
Described as "mixing rustic and luxe", the The Wensleydale Experience in Leyburn is a good way to get back in touch with nature. Guests can stay in one of the six luxurious and cosy yurts - each complete with only private bathroom, barbecue and hot tub. They can then take part in one of the farm experiences, where they will be given the chance to experience life as a farmer.
11. The New Chapel, Great Hatfield
Stay in a former Methodist chapel in Great Hatfield. The New Chapel, built in 1901, has been converted into a a cosy, family friendly self-catered apartment. It is four miles to the seaside time of Hornsea. It sleeps up to four people. Photo: Google
