All trains between Ilkley and Leeds halted by ‘safety checks’
COMMUTERS faced a nightmare journey to work today after “safety checks” halted all trains on a busy line to Leeds.
Checks to the line being made Menston meant no trains could run between Leeds and Ilkley, with knock-on effects to services between Skipton and Bradford.
Northern Rail said it had “requested” replacement buses but could give no estimate on when they would be available.

Hide AdNetwork Rail said later that speed limits were in place on the line, with some services restored but delays for the rest of the morning.
The problems came after earlier delays caused by “signalling problems” between Shipley and Leeds.
