Anxious wait over Culture
City accolade

Citizens of Hull will be waiting with bated breath to find out of their city has been crowned Britain’s Capital of Culture.

The announcement will be made by judges in Derry, Ireland at around 7.45am, with the Yorkshire city hoping to be given the nod.

Ambassadors from the arts, community and the council made Hull’s final presentation to an independent panel in the past few weeks and will today gather in the city’s Truck Theatre to watch the announcement live on a big screen.
