Arrested comic Davidson denies sex allegations

Comedian Jim Davidson has “vigorously” denied allegations made against him by two women after being questioned by detectives investigating the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.

The allegations date back 25 years when the women were then in their mid-20s, his solicitor
Henri Brandman said.

Scotland Yard said the star, 59, was held in west London at around noon yesterday. Another man was arrested earlier in Hampshire, on suspicion of sex offences linked to Operation Yewtree.

Mr Brandman added: “He has not been charged with any offence. Neither he nor I will be making any further comment.”
