BBC sees Bollywood Bradford

THE glamour of Bollywood was mixed with classic opera in Bradford last night with a performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen broadcast live to television viewers.

The one-off musical spectacular was staged in City Park and featured a Bollywood take on French composer Bizet’s opera, with the production following a Bradford girl called Carmen – played by Preeya Kalidas – who is an aspiring dancer obsessed with movie stardom. The Bollywood performance was broadcast on BBC3.
