Beer blockadehalts brewing

The world's largest brewer halted production in its home country of Belgium yesterday as a dispute over job cuts escalated.

Workers began picketing three Anheuser-Busch InBev breweries two weeks ago to protest against job cuts. The company said that walls of beer crates erected at Belgian plants had prevented raw materials, empty bottles and packaging going in. Stores across Belgium say their supplies of Stella Artois, Leffe and Beck’s are running low.
