Bread recall over labelling

A North Yorkshire bakery has withdrawn a batch of its bread from shops after its label failed to declare it contained milk.

All of Botham’s of Whitby’s Finest Quality Plum Bread with best before dates between May 13 and June 24 this year have been withdrawn.

The Food Standards Agency said the product posed a potential health risk for people who are allergic or have an intolerance to milk or its constituents. None of the firm’s other products are known to be affected.
