Brick shatters train driver’s window
The brick, which is believed to have been thrown by three youths, smashed the outer skin of the driver’s window, causing considerable damage. The train was later taken out of service.
The incident happened around 10pm on Friday, April 29, as the 8.29pm Blackpool North to York service passed through the district.

Hide AdPC John Moses, investigating officer, said: “This dangerous incident left the driver understandably shaken and caused the service to be terminated early.
“We urge those who think that throwing stones and other objects at passing trains is fun to consider the consequences of their actions, which could have been much worse.
“Offenders who throw objects at trains not only risk seriously injuring passengers and staff but are risking a prison term.”
