Burnt dog ‘suffered terribly’

POLICE who found a dog which had been tied to a tree and set on fire said it had been tortured and had “suffered terribly”.

Officers believe the light-coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier was severely beaten before it was set alight. The incident happened some time between last Monday and yesterday in the Skye Edge area of Sheffield.

The remains of the animal were found on a path off Manor Laith Road. Police appealed for anybody who recognised the description of the dog to get in touch.
