Cars stolen in burglary at Halifax house

TWO cars and a large quantity of football training equipment were stolen during a burglary at a house in Halifax area.

Police say raiders got into a house on The Drive at Hipperholme while the occupants were asleep in the early hours on Wednesday. (November 4)

The keys to two cars – a Peugeot 3008 and Toyota Rav4 – were taken and both cars were stolen from the driveway.

The Peugeot contained a large amount of football coaching equipment, including a large number of training bibs and footballs.

Other personal items including mobile phones were also stolen.

Det Insp Gary Stephenson of Calderdale CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area in the early hours of Wednesday morning and may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward.

“The suspects have not only stolen personal vehicles, but have also taken a large amount of coaching equipment, which forms part of the victims livelihood in providing sports training to able-bodied and disabled children and adults across the area.

“If anyone has been invited to buy the items, or has seen them for advertised for sale I would ask that they speak to the police. Enquiries are ongoing.”
