Armed robbers steal car and jewellery

A WOMAN was tied up at knifepoint after opening her door to robbers who stole jewellery and a car from her home.

The 57-year-old was restrained by three men wearing dark clothing and facial coverings at her home in Forge Lane in Wike, Leeds, at 10.45pm on Thursday.

The men took the jewellery and a white Audi TT, leaving their victim tied up in the property. The car was found locked and unattended in nearby Shadwell.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information and say the offenders may also have used a black Seat Leon.

Detective Constable Dean Hopley, of Leeds District CID, said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t physically harmed but it is important that the persons responsible are caught as quickly as possible.”
