Callous thief steals Poppy Appeal tin from outside house

Police are investigating after a Poppy Appeal tin containing £40 was stolen from a village near Hull.

A resident in Wyton near Hull put the collection tin out on a table at the end of their drive.

But at at some point between 4.45pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday, the tin – which is believed to have contained around £40 – was stolen.

Police said the volunteer had wanted to go on raising money for the appeal without breaching lockdown restrictions.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101. Police are also asking for people to refrain from speculating on social media.
