Callous thieves steal more than £20,000 of equipment from cricket club in Leeds

Callous thieves have stolen more than £20,000 of equipment from an educational cricket club in Leeds.

Kirkstall Educational Cricket Club (KECC), Queenswood Drive, was ransacked sometime between Friday and Sunday.

Devastating pictures show an equipment store which had been turned over by the thieves and a metal railing which had been forced away.

Items stolen during the raid included a Lloyd’s Paladin, a Groundsman Spiker, plus three rotary mowers, a strimmer and a Sisis Auto Rotorake, groundsman David Hodgson said on social media.

In a tweet, the groundsman said: "If anyone is offered Lloyd’s Paladin a Groundsman Spiker, plus any of three rotary mowers a strimmer and a Sisis Auto Rotorake be careful

"Kirkstall Educational Cricket Club have been broken into, they may have been stolen.

"I think this maybe a sign I should just retire it would avoid a lot of stress."
