Car driver dies two weeks after hitting runaway horse

A MOTORIST hospitalised after the car he was driving hit a runaway horse has died of his injuries two weeks later.

The 22-year-old man was driving a blue Audi A4 which collided with the loose horse on Moss Road near to the junction with Heyworth Lane, Askern, near Doncaster.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.05am on Thursday 18 September and the man, from Doncaster, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

South Yorkshire Police say he died of his injuries yesterday. The horse was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.
