CCTV appeal after shots fired outside Sheffield pub

POLICE investigating a shooting incident outside a Sheffield pub have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

Officers were called to Hathersage Road in Sheffield at around 12.45pm on Sunday May 1 after receiving reports that shots had been fired outside the Fox House Inn.

Temporary Detective Inspector Graham Stead of South Yorkshire Police, said: “From our enquiries so far, we believe that there may have been an incident that took place on a bus travelling through the local area.

“At the bus stop outside the pub, the suspect is believed to have got off the bus and reportedly fired a weapon.

“Thankfully nobody was injured, but that does not lessen the severity of this offence and we are determined to identify the person responsible.

“We believe the man pictured in the CCTV images holds information that could be incredibly useful for our investigation, so we’d like to hear from him or from anyone who recognises him.

“If you were on the bus last weekend, or travelling along Hathersage Road at the time of the incident, I’d also be keen to hear from you.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 508 of 1 May 2016.
