Deputy police tsar on up to £56,000 appointed
Mr Burns-Williamson came under fire from members of the crime panel – responsible for scrutinising the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner – for advertising for a deputy among Labour Party members only.
A spokesman for the commissioner’s office, said: “Isabel Owen has extensive experience of building partnerships including as the regional director of the cross-party organisation Britain in Europe and head of partnerships for a Leeds-based debt advice charity.
