Detectives seek two men over Leeds stabbing death

POLICE were today searching for two men in connection with a stabbing death in Leeds.

Detectives investigating the killing of Marlon Small said they “urgently” wanted to find Marcus Clarke, 21, and Kieran Hunt, 27, both from Chapeltown.

West Yorkshire Police’s Det Chief Insp Jim Dunkerley said: “These two men have been identified as being of significant interest to the investigation and we urgently need to trace them.

“Anyone who sees either man should not approach them but should contact the police immediately on 999.

“I would again like to remind people that there can be very serious consequences for anyone involved in assisting an offender in a murder investigation.”

Mr Small, 31, from Chapeltown, was found collapsed in Merrion Street in the city centre in the early hours of Saturday, November 1.

He was taken to hospital after being discovered in the street but was pronounced dead a short time later

A post mortem revealed he had died from a single stab wound.

Damien Dhers, 34, of Hessle Road in Hyde Park, was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with Mr Small’s murder.

He has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
