The barbecue had been lit despite UK 'lockdown' measures in place urging people to stay in their homes to help fight the coronavirus.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Despite the current measures in place regarding Coronavirus AND us asking people to BeMoorAware today we attended a large fire in the open.

"On arrival Firefighters noticed a disposable barbecue still smoking, with the surrounding area alight.

"Luckily on this occasion we were able to extinguish the fire quickly, but this could have resulted in another large incident & required multiple resources.
