Doncaster murder suspect released on bail

A MAN who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of 24-year-old Lewis Siddall in Doncaster has been released on police bail.

Lewis Siddall, 24, from the village of Skellow, was reportedly assaulted in the VDKA bar on Silver Street in the town centre shortly after 11pm on Thursday.

He returned home after the incident but was found dead in bed at about 5.20am on Friday.

According to South Yorkshire Police, a post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Siddall died as a result of a head injury.

A 22-year-old Doncaster man arrested on suspicion of murder was today released on police bail after being interviewed by detectives.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The inquiry is in its very early stages and there are many more witnesses and lines of enquiry to pursue to ensure we establish the full facts about what happened to Mr Siddall.

“We believe there are a number of people who were at the bar that night who have not yet spoken to us who could potentially help with our inquiry.
