Five teens sentenced after 13-year-old died in crash involving stolen car
Five teenagers have been sentenced after a 13-year-old boy was killed when the stolen car he was in crashed.
Harrison Reynolds was travelling in the stolen Vauxhall Corsa with five other people when it crashed into a grass verge and lost control on the A672 Oldham Road near Rishworth in the early hours of February 4, 2025.
The 13-year-old was thrown from the car and suffered catastrophic head injuries. He later died in hospital.
Two of the boys who were also in the car at the time fled the scene, and the police helicopter was deployed to find them.
Two girls and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
All five - none of whom can be named for legal reasons - have now been sentenced.
A 16-year-old boy who was driving the Corsa at the time of the crashed was sentenced to four years in custody at Bradford Crown Court on Monday (May 11).
He was also disqualified from driving for seven years and must pass an extended driving test.

The four other teenagers appeared before Bradford Youth Court for sentencing on April 20:
- An 18-year-old boy, who was 16 at the time of the offence, was sentenced to a 12-month Intensive Referral Order and disqualified from driving for four years after admitting aggravated vehicle taking.
- A 15-year-old boy was sentenced to a 12-month Intensive Referral Order and disqualified from driving for four years after admitting aggravated vehicle taking.
- A 17-year-old girl was sentenced to a 12-month Intensive Referral Order and disqualified from driving for four years after admitting aggravated vehicle taking.
- A 16-year-old girl, who initially took the vehicle, was sentenced to a 12-month Intensive Referral Order and disqualified from driving for four years after admitting aggravated vehicle taking.
All four were also subjected to a police-monitored nighttime curfew which will be reviewed every six weeks.
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Adele Murphy-Hartley of West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “By travelling in that vehicle on that night, these five teenagers made a dreadful mistake that will live with them for the rest of their lives. Tragically, for Harrison, this cost him his life.
“This was a truly horrendous incident that has seen a young boy’s life cut short. It has caused irreparable heartache to his family, and I have no doubt it will have a lasting impact on those who were in the car with Harrison on that night.
“It is a painful example of the real dangers posed by driving a vehicle when unqualified and inexperienced to do so. I hope it will serve as a clear warning to others of how dangerous behaviour on the roads can cause irreversible heartache in a matter of seconds.”
