How long was dead motorist in car after fatal Doncaster crash?

A 24-year-old man was found dead in a car crashed in a ditch - and detectives say they do not know how long the vehicle had been there before it was discovered.

A passing motorist came across a silver Vauxhall Astra in a roadside ditch off Oak Lane, Sykehouse, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, at 6.20pm yesterday.

The 24-year-old man found inside the vehicle had suffered fatal injuries, according to South Yorkshire Police, who have launched an appeal for witnesses to the fatal collision.

The force said in a statement: “It is believed that the Astra may have been travelling in the general direction of the A614 Selby Road but it is not known how long the vehicle was in the ditch prior to being discovered.

“Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision or anyone who may hold information.”
